It’s a Saturday Spectacular at Sharks

While much of the attention will focus on the crucial Sharks v Titans NRL clash this weekend, there will be another event taking centre stage at half time of the big game.

With 1,500 performers, hailing from 33 dance schools, set to once again raise the roof down in the Shire, it will be a spectacular Saturday at Shark Park when dancers of all ages take to the field.

This year’s Dance Spectacular, a continuation of the many successful events from years past, has again been orchestrated and arranged by Jacqueline-Lee Elliott from JLD Entertainment & Productions PTY LTD, the Head Choreographer of the Sharks Mermaids.

Production, consisting of planning, mapping and choreography has been taking place since December, with rehearsals having begun in February.

It promises to be another eye-catching event and one Ms Elliott is again looking forward to.

“I’m extremely excited for this event. It’s been a huge production to pull together for the Sharks first game of the season,” Ms Elliott said. “A high energy remix of genres and hits from the 80s, 90's and now, which I hope will get the fans grooving in their seats.

“A huge thank you to everyone who has jumped on board, including all participants, studio owners, parents, assistants and club staff. I hope everybody enjoys the show.”

The Sharks Mermaids and the Sharks 67 Crew Academy will also participate in the dance spectacular.

In what will be a huge operation to pull together, the dancers will assemble at the nearby Captain Cook Fields, Elliott and around 150 dance teachers and their assistants will put the finishing touches on the routine, before they bound onto Shark Park for the main event.

The Sharks v Titans NRL match kicks off at 3.00pm, with the 2019 Dance Spectacular getting underway at half time of the main game.
