The Sharks have named two rookies in their side to tackle the Knights on Friday night, with back rower Briton Nikora and hooker Blayke Brailey set to made their NRL debuts.
Nikora has won a hotly contested back row position and has been named to start the match at McDonald Jones Stadium, while Brailey has been chosen in jersey 14 and is likely to come into the game to give his older brother Jayden a breather at some point in the contest.
Otherwise the Sharks have named a predictable 21-man squad, with Shaun Johnson to make his debut in Sharks colours as Chad Townsend's halves partner, Matt Moylan reverts to fullback after spending the majority of the 2018 season in the five eighth role, with 263-game NRL veteran Josh Morris to also play his first game for Cronulla.
Boom youngsters Kyle Flanagan and Bronson Xerri have been selected on an extended reserves bench.
The Sharks will travel to Newcastle on Thursday ahead of the clash which is scheduled for a 6.00pm kick off on Friday.
