Junior Sharks on trial tomorrow

The Sharks Junior Rep teams will be in action for the first time in 2019 when they contest trial matches at the Sharks Academy fields and in Corrimal tomorrow.

The under 16 Sharks Matthews Cup team and under 18 SG Ball side take on the Central Coast, with the Jersey Flegg 20's to play Glebe, all matches to take place at the Academy Fields at Cronulla High, while the Tarsha Gale girls travel to Ziems Park in Corrimal for a three-way trial involving Illawarra and the Roosters.

The games being hosted by the Sharks begin at 10.30am with the Matthews Cup match, the SG Ball follows at 12 noon, before Flegg gets underway at 1.30pm.

As for the Tarsha Gale Sharks, their trials begin at 1.15pm.

The Sharks Junior rep teams will be looking to emulate their success of 2018, with the Jersey Flegg and Tarsha Gale teams taking out their respective competitions and the junior boys teams going deep into the finals series.

In a display of the stability in the Sharks Academy program, all coaches return after their successful campaigns of last year.

Following Saturday's matches the Sharks Matthews Cup, SG Ball and Tarsha Gale teams will play trials against Newcastle, also at Cronulla High, before the round one kicks off the 2019 season on Saturday, February 9.

The Sharks are drawn to play Illawarra at home in first round matches.

The NSWRL Junior representative season is nine rounds of home and away matches, followed by a finals series.

Further trials for the Jersey Flegg Sharks are scheduled to coincide with NRL and ISP trials against the Sea Eagles and Knights on February 23 and March 2.

The Jersey Flegg Sharks kick off their season on Sunday, March 24 with a match against the North Sydney Bears.
