Jason Stanton, Sharks Have Heart staff member and Skillz4Me Co-founder, was joined by a special guest in Sharks Mascot Reefy delivering Christmas gifts at Autism Spectrum Australia's (Aspect) Kirrawee School.

The Aspect Kirrawee school is an autism specific school catering for kids aged from 5-10 years, where the learning environments are tailored to the special needs of students.

The school features small class sizes with a high teacher to student ratio, with all classes including a teacher and a teacher's aide, with their goal to help students develop the skills to become as independent as possible and to enable them to succeed in the wider community.

The gifts were donated through the Sharks Have Heart Toy Drive, a large portion coming courtesy of the Sharks Women's Golf Club and Jannali East Public School.

There were familiar faces at the school, with some of the students also attending the Sharks Have Heart supported 'Skillz4me' program.

As a part of the commitment within the area of Inclusivity, Sharks Have Heart supports Skillz4Me, an all abilities program running throughout the year.

Skillz4me, an activity-based program mixing sports, therapy and fun, conducted 40 sessions in 2018, involving 107 children and 1293 engagements, far exceeding the target of 400 engagements, with the program having an enormous impact in the community.

The visit to the Aspect Kirrawee school was in line with the Sharks efforts to create a more inclusive environment for our community as a key focus, falling within the Sharks Have Heart pillar of 'Inclusivity & Diversity'.

Sharks Have Heart would like to thank proud platinum partners' Capital Bluestone, who without their generous support, many of these initiatives would not be possible.
