Fifita named in World XIII

Sharks prop Andrew Fifita has been named in a World XIII in a team dominated by six players from the Sydney Roosters.

Chosen by 11 journalists, who selected their top five players in each position, Fifita was rewarded for his efforts for club with the Sharks and country for the Tongan team on the international stage.

Departing Sharks star Valentine Holmes was also included as one of the World XIII wingers alongside England's Golden Boot winner Tommy Markinson.

New Sharks recruit Shaun Johnson came in fourth on the list of best half backs.

The team was selected with journalists allocating five points is given to their top pick in each position, all the way down to one point for their fifth choice. A 12th vote was taken from fans through the TotalRL.com website.

The Premiership-winning Roosters outfit had six players named, five who were also a part of the NSW State of Origin victory in James Tedesco, Latrell Mitchell, Luke Keary and Boyd Cordner, along with Kiwi Joseph Manu and Queensland half back Cooper Cronk.

Three Englishmen were named in the squad, with Tonga having two representatives in Fifita and Jason Taumalolo.
