Late Mail – Sharks v Raiders

Coach Shane Flanagan spoke yesterday about his squad enjoying a much more settled week at training, with no injury concerns, no players backing up from Origin duty nor, as was the case last week, was there any illness affecting the Sharks camp.

As a result, the Sharks will run out 1-17 as selected on Tuesday for their round 19 clash with the Raiders at Southern Cross Group Stadium later tonight.

Jesse Ramien has recovered from the shoulder complaint that kept him out of the Sharks game against Penrith last week and returns in the centres, while Scott Sorensen will play against his old club after he was retained in the back row following a solid effort in the Panthers match.

Aaron Woods runs out for his first game on home turf as a Shark, with the international front rower to come off the bench for tonight's clash.

As for their opponents, the Raiders lost half back Aiden Sezer earlier in the week with a hamstring strain, with his place set to be taken by Blake Austin. Regular fullback Jack Wighton is serving an NRL suspension for off-field misconduct, with Brad Abbey taking his place in the number one jersey and captain Jarrod Croker looks set to miss the remainder of the season with a knee injured suffered in his teams last start win over the Cowboys.

Kick-off to the Sharks v Raiders game is at 6.00pm.
