A win by the Sharks, combined with a loss by the Newcastle Knights, has seen the young Cronulla side take over top spot on the Jersey Flegg ladder after 13 rounds of the 2018 season.
The Flegg Sharks were outstanding in the second half against the Bulldogs, running in 32 points as compared to just six by their opponents, with the 32-16 win perhaps their most impressive in recent weeks.
The Sharks recorded the win missing their two regular centres and with five eighth Luke Jurd playing in the unfamiliar position of hooker.
Still undefeated, with eight wins, two draws and a bye from the 11 rounds played, the Sharks sit on 20 competition points, two better than the Knights and Panthers and seven clear of the fourth placed Roosters.
This weekend the Sharks play the Eels in a match scheduled for Sunday at Ringrose Park. Kick-off is at 11.00am.
