Flegg Sharks down the Dogs

The Jersey Flegg Sharks have scored a 32-16 win over the Bulldogs to continue their winning ways as they remained undefeated through 13 rounds of the NSWRL under-20's competition.

Missing both their regular centres, with Bronson Xerri on NSW Under 18's duties and Ronaldo Mulitalo injured, Vito Tevaga and Isaac Lumelume came into the squad and did the job required for coach Dave Howlett, with the young Sharks scoring six tries to three in what was a convincing victory.

With the Knights going down today in their game against Mounties, the Sharks are now alone on top of the Flegg ladder on 22 points following eight wins and two draws (plus one bye) from their 10 matches played.

Halfback Braydon Trindall, who has been a regular at Sharks NRL training sessions of late, posted first points early in the second half with a try after the Cronulla side had trailed 8-0 at the break.

From there the Sharks with the momentum running their way, took control, lock James Roumanos, Luke Jurd, the teams regular five eighth playing in the unfamiliar role of hooker, both getting across the stripe to put their team in front and from there they never looked back.

Lumelume, fullback Luke Polselli and winger Chris Tupou rounded out the try scoring, while Trindall kicked four goals on the day.

The Sharks will look to maintain their place at the top when they travel to Ringrose Park next Saturday to play the Parramatta Eels in a round 14 clash.
