The Sharks might have an abundance of fullbacks on their books for 2018, with Valentine Holmes set to step into the role in the opening round, while Josh Dugan and Matt Moylan are equally capable in the number one jersey.

Another young fullback, training, looking on and learning during the summer pre-season is 2017 NYC graduate Will Kennedy, the son of a former first grader in Bubba and a player of immense potential.

Kennedy played an integral role in the success of the Sharks Holden Cup side last year and if his development continues, his time will certainly come.

With speed and good skill, Kennedy is the prototype of the modern fullback, a player who can run the ball but who can also chime in and provide attacking opportunity for those around him.

He may be towards the back of queue at the moment in terms of Sharks fullbacks, but don’t be surprised if Kennedy grabs his opportunity with both hands if and when it presents sometime in the near future.

Another of the Sharks ‘Young Guns’, Kennedy spoke with Sharks TV.
