Sharks skipper Paul Gallen claimed the two major awards at the recent Monty Porter Medal Night after an outstanding 2017 season.

Gallen was named the Pontifex Player of the Year and the Tommy Bishop Player's Player in a fitting reward for his efforts throughout the year.

In his 17th season in the NRL, Gallen played in all 25 games during 2017, crediting his retirement from the Origin arena as a major factor in him being able to play at a high level back in the NRL for the Sharks.

Upon accepting his award, Gallen spoke to Sharks TV, about his season, the performance of the team and what lies ahead.

See what he had to say, with his interview now available on Sharks TV.
