Shane Flanagan’s side have a fight on their hands. However, that is what has made this team the team they are today.

A tough team. A strong team.

With a top 4 finish not yet out of the question, the Sharks now need to show that spirit that has been synonymous with the black, white and blue in recent times.

When asked whether it mattered if his side made the top 4, Flanagan said it would be what it would be and his side would just get on with the job at hand.

“I’ll just move on,” said Flanagan.

“We’ve just got to deal with the cards we’ve been dealt with. We were close tonight and it could have gone the opposite way and it didn’t.

“We just need to move on to next week. We’re in the Finals and wherever we come, we’ll turn up and we’ll play and we’ll give it a real crack.”

Next week, the job at hand is the Newcastle Knights.

The Novocastrians have been playing with enthusiasm these last few rounds so the Sharks will need to be on their game.

However, this is the time of year you want to be playing.

This is the time of year the big teams step up.
