After three weeks working his way back into form and match fitness James Segeyaro will be a non-starter against the Panthers on Sunday after suffering a broken arm in the win over the Storm.

The Sharks interchange hooker was injected into the game in the 52nd minute of the match in Melbourne and may have sustained the injury in his first tackle involvement of the game.

Segeyaro played out the match but was showing signs of discomfort later than night and again the following morning, with subsequent scans and x-rays revealing a break in his arm.

Early predictions are he could miss up to six weeks.

The omission of Segeyaro however is the only change to the Sharks 17 which beat the Storm, with Kurt Capewell selected on the interchange bench in his place.

Coach Shane Flanagan also has a few options up his sleeve in naming a 21-man squad, with forwards Joseph Paulo, Tony Williams, Sam Tagataese and utility Fa’amanu Brown potentially coming into the 17-man squad on Sunday.

The Sharks play the Panthers at Pepper Stadium on Sunday. Kick-off is 4.00pm.
