Sharks coach Shane Flanagan has predictably come up with no surprises in announcing his team to play the Knights at Southern Cross Group Stadium on Saturday.

On the back of a win and with no major injury issues, Flanagan has stuck with the 17 players from the last start win over the Eels, while making just one change to his extended eight-man bench.

While James Segeyaro, following a 20-minute cameo in the Parramatta clash, has been retained, the only change is Sam Tagataese in jersey 21, the hard running forward returning to the NRL team list after three weeks with the Newtown Intrust Super Premiership team.

In making the change more official and perhaps more permanent, Flanagan has selected Valentine Holmes in the number one jersey, with Jack Bird named in the centre position.

The Sharks and Knights play on Saturday in game made special for two significant reasons.

Firstly, the match marks the 300th NRL game for Sharks forward Chris Heighington, while celebrations will also take place to recognise the first ever Cronulla match in the top grade, a match which took place 50 years ago, on April 2 back in 1967.

A player’s reunion will be held and those former players in attendance will do a lap of honour at half time of the NRL match

Kick off to the NRL game is at 3.00pm.
