Sharks skipper Paul Gallen is fit and ready to go ahead of this afternoon’s weigh-in and tomorrow’s boxing match-up with Queenslander Ryan Carr at Southern Cross Group Stadium.

Gallen has split his time between Sharks field and weights sessions and boxing specific sparing and training at Southside Gym in Caringbah as he looks to improve on his 6-0 professional boxing record.

Expected to tip the scales somewhere around his rugby league playing weight of 104kgs at the official fight night weigh in, to be held at Northies in Cronulla at 4.00pm, Gallen will be giving away a height advantage to his 185cm tall opponent.

While inexperienced as a boxer with just two professional bouts, both for victories, under his belt, Carr has an extensive background in kick boxing and is set to provide a stern challenge for the Sharks skipper.

Carr has lit the fuse for an explosive main event by trash talking Gallen from his Gold Coast training base, making for an interesting evening ahead.

Also headlining the action will be local boxers Ryan Waters and Jack Brubaker, with the pair to take on experienced challengers.

Amateur boxers from Sutherland Shire junior league clubs will also take part on the night, with $5,000 going to the winning club.

Tickets are still available and on sale through Ticketek outlets, with limited tickets also on sale at the gate tomorrow night.

The Rumble at Southern Cross Group Stadium starts with the preliminary bouts getting underway at 5.00pm.
