Set to etch another chapter in the story of the growing rivalry between the two clubs, the Sharks and Storm will twice square off in ‘Grand Final replays’ throughout the 2017 NRL season.
The Sharks and Storm met on three occasions last season, twice with silverware on the line.
The Sharks will first meet the Storm in Round 6, as the defending Premiers travel to AAMI Park to play Melbourne on Sunday, April 9, at 4.00pm.
Yet to record a success at AAMI Park after the Storm’s move to the rectangular stadium in 2010, the Sharks will be out to overturn an underwhelming record South of the New South Wales border.
Southern Cross Group Stadium will then be the venue for the return bout, with the Sharks to play host to the Storm on Thursday, June 8, with the game set to get underway at 7:50pm.
Head to Head: Cronulla Sharks v Melbourne Storm
Played: 32 (Sharks 11, Storm 21)
At AAMI Park: 7 (Sharks 0, Storm 7)
At Southern Cross Group Stadium: 13 (Sharks 6, Storm 7)
Round 4 – Sharks 14 def. Storm 6,
Round 26 – Sharks 6 def. by Storm 26,
NRL Grand Final – Sharks 14 def. Storm 12.
