Injured in what was the final play of the game last night Valentine Holmes was assisted from the playing field by Sharks training staff with fears he had done significant damage to an ankle.

The news on Holmes, the Sharks leading try-scorer and an integral part of the team’s 15-match winning streak, was positive however upon further diagnosis of the injury, with the young winger cleared of any serious damage.

Holmes walked away from ANZ Stadium last night unassisted with just strapping on his ankle and is expected to be named in the Sharks team later today and to take to the field against the Roosters on Saturday night.

In further positive news on the injury front, both Paul Gallen and Sosaia Feki appear to have overcome the injury issues which kept them sidelined last night.

Gallen was extremely close to taking part in the Rabbitohs match with his calf injury having almost completely healed, while Feki looks likely to be given the all-clear to resume and treatment and rehabilitation on a groin strain.

That leaves big front rower Sam Tagataese as potentially the only player unavailable due to injury.

Tagataese underwent minor shoulder surgery and is hopeful of a return during the Finals Series pending the success of his rehab program.

Stay tuned to sharks.com.au at 5pm this afternoon for the NRL Team List for Saturday night's clash against the Sydney Rooster.
