It was a quiet week at Sharks headquarters due to the round of representative matches last weekend, with a couple of other clubs attracting the majority of the headlines, often for unwanted reasons.

With a strong contingent of Sharks involved in the rep games however a number of Cronulla players did receive some much deserved recognition, with Paul Gallen walking away with man-of-the-match in the Trans Tasman Test and Fa’amanu Brown named best on ground in the Samoa v Tonga Pacific Test match.

Back on the home front, the Sharks went about their business with a minimum of fuss and fanfare, with Luke Lewis and Gerard Beale fronting the press at the weekend media session on Tuesday.

Wade Graham and Andrew Fifita also conducted Sharks TV interviews in the lead up to what is Indigenous Round, with the two speaking passionately about their indigenous heritage and what this weekend represents.

On Wednesday the local St George and Sutherland Shire Leader newspaper featured Chad Townsend on the back page with some words of praise for both his recent performances for the Sharks and for his efforts in the winning City Origin team in their victory over Country.

While also on Wednesday profiled Luke Lewis and how life is good for the Sharks star backrower following the birth of his first child only a month ago.

Then on Friday, Shane Flanagan fronted the media for his weekly press conference, with the Sharks head coach stressing the need for his team to be switched on for their match in Newcastle on Sunday.
