While the other NYC teams enjoyed a week off due to the representative round of matches the Sharks were in action at Brookvale Oval in a match deferred from round 3 due to the condition of the ground.

Unfortunately for the young Sharks their unscheduled trip to the northern beaches was an unsuccessful one, with the Cronulla team going down to a Manly side sitting on the bottom of the NYC ladder.

The Sharks have a chance to get back into the winner’s circle this weekend when they travel to Newcastle to tackle the Knights in a match to be played at Hunter stadium on Sunday.

Despite the disappointing result last weekend coach John Morris has stuck solid with the team which took to the field for the Manly loss.

Zac Faulkner retains his place on the interchange bench, alongside local front rowers Brock Ilett, Daniel Vasquez and lock Billy Magoulias.

Charged for a careless high tackle late in the Sea Eagles clash, after taking the early plea Magoulias is free to play this Sunday in Newcastle.

The Holden Cup match between the Sharks and Knights is scheduled to kick off at the early time of 9.40am, with an Instrust Super Premiership game to be played immediately before the NRL clash which gets underway at 2.00pm.

The Sharks team is listed below.
