NYC Preview: Comeback kids look to start fast

The NYC Sharks have quickly made a habit of winning from losing positions inside their four victories this season – The eight points accrued all won, having trailed for periods in their respective matches.

Versus the Cowboys (Round 1), Storm and Titans (Rounds 4 & 6), Coach John Morris’ men had sat 12 or more points adrift of their opponents, only to show a steely resilience to fight their way back to the front.

But in facing a Raiders 20s side on Sunday that will without doubt fire out of the blocks, the Sharks know they must aim up in defence early, to not make the task at hand more difficult than need be.

While the Sharks sit at four wins and a loss after their five matches played, the Raiders meanwhile boast a mixed record, with three wins and as many losses from their six.

In team news, Morris has stuck with the 17 that got the job done against the Titans, with Will Kennedy retaining his place at fullback for the Canberra match after playing his first full game in the position this season after having earlier filled in at halfback.

The NYC Sharks v Raiders match gets underway bright and early, with kick off scheduled for 9:40am.
