Having scored his first try of the season in the Sharks win over the Tigers, five-eighth James Maloney kept a lid on the side's performance following the 8-point victory at Campbelltown.

"The performance overall was pretty patchy, there's a lot of improvements (still to be made) there," Maloney said.

"It's always nice when you probably don't play your best for the 80 minutes but still get the win."

Amassing a personal haul of 18 points on the night, Maloney spoke of the good work done by the Sharks backs, and the threat the Tigers posed throughout periods of the match.
