A heavily touted prospect, Jack Bird first caught the eye of Sharks Members and fans – and bigger still, the Rugby League world – when he burst on to the scene at 2015’s Auckland Nines tournament.

But how thankful are we that he didn’t stop there?

Bird’s showing at the Nines weekend had the Cronulla faithful longing for more, and he was given his chance on the NRL stage in the Sharks Round 4 match against the Titans.

Playing off the interchange bench that evening, the 20-year-old would do enough to earn a starting berth the following week against the Roosters – And say no more.

With the Sharks backs against the wall, at 0-and-4 to start the regular season, Bird made his presence in First Grade felt; scoring a double and having a hand in another try, in seeing the side home to what proved a crucial win.

With that in mind, click HERE to see moments from 2015 that have us wanting even more from Bird ahead of the new season.
