It was a disappointing loss for a Sharks team pushing for a top eight berth but as coach Shane Flanagan summed up at the post-match press conference, eight teams are going home and heading for Mad Monday celebrations but the Sharks live to fight another day.

The media reported the loss as the missed opportunity that it was, with all the major publications providing their insights into the game against the Sea Eagles yesterday.

On other Sharks related matters, the Sunday Telegraph reported the $10 financial windfall which has the club charting a course for future prosperity. If you missed the Sunday papers it is an interesting read into the current financial dealings of the Sharks.

The training injury to Andrew Fifita has also been reported, with the minor muscle tear unlikely to derail his return to the field next weekend, while re-signing of forwards Chris Heighington and Sam Tagataese also rated a mention.

Phil Bailey would be remembered by some here at the Cronulla club, with the former Shark now making a name for himself as an assistant coach of the American Eagles Rugby Union team.

Just in case you missed it, we provide some of the stories relating to the Sharks over the past few days, in Sharks in the News for September 7.
