Paul Gallen played in excess of 70-minutes backing up from Origin duties in showing no ill effects from the rib injury which had kept him off the field since the second State of Origin match.

As he does on a regular basis Gallen ran for over 200 metres and led his team admirably as they registered a win over the Dragons which kept them on the edge of the top eight with some important matches in the weeks ahead.

While Matt Prior was a late withdrawal from the Dragons match with a minor leg injury, he has been chosen in an 18-man squad for this week’s game against the Raiders and will be fit to play if required by Coach Shane Flanagan.

As for the other injured Sharks, Anthony Tupou is closest to a return to the field and is training the house down in preparation for his comeback, predicted to potentially be the Sharks match with the Warriors in round 21.

It was against the Warriors where Tupou suffered his shocking broken jaw, an injury which by the time of his return will have kept him sidelined for around three months.

Fa’amanu Brown remains the most likely of the others to return to the playing field in 2015, with Kyle Stanley and Jacob Gagan ruled out for the season with knee and Achilles injuries respectively.
