A loss to the last-placed Dragons was certainly a setback however the NYC Sharks will look to quickly return to the winner’s circle when they travel to Canberra to take on the Raiders on Saturday.

The Sharks went down 26-18 to the Dragons, giving up an 80th minute try which made the difference between the teams seems greater than it in fact was, but it was still a disappointing loss considering the young Cronulla team is fighting for a finals berth.

They do get a chance to atone when they come up against the fourth-placed Raiders in a match in which the Sharks will be desperate to win as they bid to stay in touch with the top eight with the season approaching the business end.

Sharks coach James Shepherd has brought recently capped Australian Schoolboy Curtis Scott into the side in the centres after he missed the last round of the NYC due to commitments at the national schools championships last weekend, while hardworking prop Harrison Muller missed the Dragons game with injury and also returns.

Shepherd has named seven players on an extended interchange bench and will finalise his side prior to their departure for Canberra on Friday.

The NYC Sharks v Raiders match is scheduled for a 10.40am kick-off at GIO Stadium on Saturday.
