Sharks NYC Coach James Shepherd has shown faith in his squad by resisting wholesale changes to his line-up despite a heavy defeat at the hands of the Cowboys at their last start.
The Sharks endured a tough day in Townsville in a performance the coaching staff wouldn’t have seen coming after a recent run had them on the edge of the NYC top eight.
This weekend they travel to Brookvale with a chance to atone and to resume their push for a finals berth when they tackle the fourth-placed Manly side on Sunday.
On a tightly congested NYC ladder the Sharks are just four points in arrears of the Sea Eagles, yet they sit six places behind in 10th position, with a win this weekend imperative if they are to maintain touch with the leading teams.
The Sharks v Manly NYC match is scheduled for a 1.45pm kick-off at Brookvale Oval on Sunday.
