Cronulla Sharks back rower Luke Lewis spoke to the media ahead of Friday's Trans-Tasman Test against the Kiwis.

The match will be the 16th time that Lewis will represent the Kangaroos, having last done so against Fiji in the 2013 World Cup.

Playing just five games since overcoming a pre-season knee injury, the 31-year-old veteran said he was surprised to have earned the call up to the national side.

"I couldn't believe it when I got the phone call to be honest. I hadn't thought too much about it," he said.

"It's always a pleasure to be standing here with the players that are here and to be in the Green & Gold. I'm pretty stoked."

Courtesy of NRL Films, the Interview with Lewis is now playing on Sharks TV.
