Again the NYC Sharks had their moments however yet again they also had enough lapses in concentration against the Sea Eagles where it had appeared their opponents would leave Remondis Stadium with a victory.
On this occasion the Sharks hung in, scored an 80 minute try to level the scores and even had a kick at goal to steal both competition points only to see the conversion attempt drift away to the left.
The performance and the 22-all draw against Manly was a step in the right direction, with the Holden Cup Sharks out to build in that effort when they travel to Brisbane to tackle the Broncos.
The challenge though will be a considerable one, with the young Brisbane side equal first on the ladder and second only on for-and-against behind the Newcastle Knights.
Coach David Howlett will again be without Fa’amanu Brown, the utility selected to play his third match in the NRL, but he does welcome Valentine Holmes back into the side after the young gun has played the last three games in the NSW Cup.
The match is scheduled for a 5.15pm kickoff at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
