After three losses in succession it was unaccustomed territory for a team which spent the entire 2013 NSW Cup season on top of the competition ladder however the NSW Cup Sharks bounced back in the best possible fashion with a convincing victory over Manly last Sunday.

The Sharks stormed to a 32-4 half time lead and while the second half wasn’t overly pretty in the greasy and wet conditions at Brookvale Oval, did more than enough to record a win and get their season on track.

This weekend the NSW Cup Sharks will be hoping to get some sort of winning streak underway when they host the Newtown Jets at Remondis Stadium.

After sending accomplished performers George Rose, Ben Hampton and Mahe Fonua the Sharks way last week the Melbourne Storm have again offered a collection of NRL caliber players as a part of their joint venture arrangement, with the Cronulla side to take on a formidable look for the Newtown game.

In addition to Sharks NRL squad members Matt Prior, Daniel Holdsworth, Nathan Stapleton and youngster Micheal Lichaa, the NSW Cup team this week again includes Storm-contracted Hampton and Rose, along with Junior Moors and fullback Kurt Mann.

The match is to be the first of three games at Remondis on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 3.15pm. Gates open at 3.00pm.
