The 2014 season is still more than three months away but it was back to work for the Sharks NRL squad today when they attended an induction day in preparation for their pre-season training which is set to begin this week.

Missing only those at the World Cup, the squad including new boys Matt Prior and Blake Ayshford heard from Sharks staff and most importantly coach Shane Flanagan, with discussions centering around their training programs and the hopes and expectations for the year ahead.

The players were later given training schedules for the weeks ahead, which includes field testing and a variety of strength, skill, endurance and flexibility sessions in the coming months.

The Sharks NRL squad will train fro the next seven weeks before taking a break from December 20 for Christmas and New Year.

Their first major assignment for 2014 for the Sharks will be the NRL Auckland Nines, set to be played on the weekend of February 15-16.

Former Dragon Matt Prior spoke to the Sharks website on his first day at his new club, with his interview now playing on Sharks TV.
