Five eighth James Maloney has had a dangerous contact charge dismissed by a judiciary panel tonight and will take his place in the Sharks team to play the Raiders on Saturday.

Maloney had been charged with grade 2 dangerous contact for a tackle on Titans centre Konrad Hurrell in the 88th minute of the Sharks golden point draw on Monday night, however after careful deliberation the panel returned a not-guilty verdict leaving him free to play.

Had the charge been upheld and Maloney found guilty, the 300 point penalty would have meant three weeks on the sidelines for the Sharks and NSW playmaker.

Maloney was represented by Nick Ghabar and accompanied at NRL Central by Sharks coach Shane Flanagan and Club CEO Lyall Gorman.

The Sharks play the Canberra Raiders at Southern Cross Group Stadium on Saturday. Kick-off is at 5.30pm.
