Sharks Have Heart Round a smash hit

The power of community spirit shone brightly at our most recent home game against the Cowboys in Round 7 as the club marked another successful Sharks Have Heart Round.

Capped off by a dominant NRL win, it was a magical day at PointsBet Stadium with a bevy of pre-game and halftime activations celebrating the Sharks' community impact.

This was made possible with the support of Quest Apartment Hotels, the club's Official Community Partner. Like the Sharks, Quest is determined to enact positive social change and operates with the community at the forefront.

'Tiny Tots' junior league players, aged 3-5, were welcomed onto the hallowed turf.

A dance performance by adults with disability from Stellar Experiences, in conjunction with the Minsepec Mermaids, wowed the packed crowd ahead of the main game.

With a goal of breaking down the stigma surrounding disabilities while advocating for inclusion, Stellar Experiences, the Sharks and Quest are aligned in empowering people of all abilities to live their dreams.

Relay for Life, a Sharks Charity Partner, manned a marquee to gather registrations for their iconic 24-hour walkathon fundraiser supporting the Cancer Council.

Relay for Life also staged an emotional lap of honour with cancer survivors and entered a team in a halftime Cronulla Sutherland Junior League relay sponsored by Quest.

The Gymea team proved the fastest in a pulsating race which had the fans on their feet. Clubs including Engadine, Menai, Kurnell, St Joseph's, Como Jannali, Cronulla Caringbah, Aquinas, Yarrawarrah and De La Salle were also represented.

The relay underlined the Sharks' longstanding commitment to working with the Cronulla Sutherland Junior League to promote and grow the sport in the local area.

In other touching initiatives, the Sharks Have Heart crew organised for Kamm, a nine-year-old boy with cancer, to watch the NRL side warm up from close range in a 'Heartfelt Moment'.

Christian, a proud Wiradjuri boy from Miranda North Public School, sounded the Shark Alarm as the players ran out, before Sharks NRL Wheelchair captain Liam Luff delivered the match ball.

Through the 50-50 Charity Raffle, important funds were raised for Sharks Have Heart that will be invested into the club's suite of community programs aimed at improving equality, education, Indigenous health outcomes and more.

Thanks to all who got behind Sharks Have Heart Round. We look forward to seeing you at PointsBet Stadium again on Sunday when we face the Dragons!
