Andrew Fifita Mural

Located on the west side of the stadium, at the front of the ET Grandstand, is a mural devoted to arguably the most important try in Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks history.

With 11 minutes to play in the 2016 Grand Final and the Sharks trailing Melbourne 12-8, Andrew Fifita lifted his team and community, carrying them over the line for the match-sealing try.

GF glory: Fifita breaks the Storm wall

A moment that helped break a 49-year wait for premiership glory as those boys in black, white and blue held on to win 14-12 over the Storm at Accor Stadium.

Fifita's try was etched onto the walls of Ocean Protect Stadium in 2026, a decade after the iconic moment, thanks to Telstra, which commissioned the mural to celebrate the company’s 25 years as the NRL’s major sponsor.

“It’s just good to see something up here from that year, and they had to choose the best-looking person to put up here,” he laughed in classic Andrew Fifita fashion.

“To be selected for the most memorable moment for the Sharks is quite an honour, and I can put that down to my team, the Cronulla Sharks, and I have to give praise to Mick Ennis because he gave me the nod and I got that moment.”
