We're open!

The new Sharks Leagues Club at Woolooware Bay officially opened its doors to members and to the public for the first time earlier today (Saturday 7 November).

A large contingent of Members and guests were on hand for the 10am opening, led by Graeme Morrison, a former Sharks committee member and someone integral to the delivery of the original Sharks Leagues Club in Woolooware, which was located on the same site now occupied by the impressive new club.

Morrison, who carried out a number of roles as a long-term committee man and volunteer, has been a Sharks member dating back to the late 1960's when the Leagues Club was located adjacent to the railway line in Caringbah. He was greeted at the entrance to the club by Sharks Chairman Steve Mace and CEO Dino Mezzatesta.

Once inside, guests enjoyed their first glimpse of a new state-of-the-art facility one best described as a resort-style destination.

The new club features The Deck, one of Sydney’s largest elevated hospitality decks, with room for around 2,000 people, offering panoramic views across Ocean Protect Stadium, Botany Bay and the Sydney city skyline, while it also includes The Gallery, The Chairman’s, Sapphire Bay Gaming Lounge and Reefy & Wanda’s Kids Club. Dining options are offered by hospitality partner Dedes Waterfront Group at the Flying Fish Bistro and Amici Pizza Pasta bar.

The 2016 premiership trophy greets guests at the front entrance, the Immortals Lounge honours the club’s greatest figures, Porchlight Cafe is named after Paul Gallen’s famous premiership winning quote in 2016 to turn the porchlights off, and the Summertime Bar carries the same name as the downstairs bar at the old club.

Yesterday, Sharks Chairman Steve Mace and Sharks Group CEO Dino Mezzatesta, alongside Sharks head coaches Craig Fitzgibbon and Tony Herman, NRL players Nicho Hynes, Blayke Brailey and Michael Gabrael, NRLW players Teagan Berry and Jada Taylor, and the people behind the new club, showcased the venue to the media, before an official opening ceremony, capped off with a fireworks display, was held later in the evening.

The new Sharks Leagues Club is open from 10am to late, seven days a week.
