NRL Team List: Round 27 v Storm

Plenty of changes for the Sharks in their final round clash against the Storm on Saturday night.

Riley Jones #567 is set to make his Cronulla club debut, while Michael Gabrael #568 and Riley Pollard #569 have been named to make their NRL debuts.

Jones is a 24-year-old from Gosford, who debuted for the Knights at hooker in 2023 before making the switch to the Sharks, where he's dominated for the Jets this season. He's a versatile centre who has played everywhere in the backline and at hooker.

His centre partner, Gabrael, is a Wentworthville product with lightning speed who came to Cronulla in 2023. The 21-year-old was the equal 3rd top try scorer in NSW Cup last year and has 27 tries and 10 assists from his 32 games for Newtown.

Pollard is another Jet setting the Cup alight, and the young halfback from Penrith will now take the next step. The 20-year-old graduated from Jersey Flegg last year and has now played 33 games for Newtown, scoring 11 tries, setting up 21 assists and kicking 51 goals at 75%.

Pollard will partner Niwhai Puru in the halves, with Hohepa Puru at 9 and the ever-reliable Will Kennedy at the back making up the spine.

Outside back Mawene Hiroti succumbed to a rib injury in the club's recent loss to the Eels and will now miss the Melbourne match.

Nicho Hynes, Blayke Brailey, Teig Wilton and KL Iro will all be rested with the Sharks locked into either 5th or 6th on the ladder.

Cronulla cult hero Toby Rudolf has been named on the bench to play his first NRL game since injuring his knee in the club's round 15 win over the Warriors in Auckland.

The Sharks will celebrate Old Boys Round and the 10-year anniversary of the 2016 premiership on Saturday against the Storm.
