Two much needed wins by the Newtown Jets and Jersey Flegg Sharks have them well positioned to claim Finals berths with just two matches remaining in the regular season.

The Jets prevailed 42-30 in a high scoring affair to move into fourth place on the NSW Cup ladder, while the Flegg Sharks dominated the second half in beating Canberra to also sit fourth and with a bye this weekend managed to lock down a Finals berth with the victory.

The Flegg Sharks have this weekend off, with the Jets to take on the ladder-leading North Sydney Bears in a match to be played at Henson Park on Saturday.

The two teams met back in round 18, with the North Sydney side scoring a narrow 12-10 triumph. The Jets will be looking for a measure of revenge, while at the same time hoping to confirm their place in the NSW Cup Finals.
