The Newtown Jets, the Sharks partner club in the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup, and the Sharks in the Jersey Flegg competition both play the Canberra Raiders in round 24 matches on Saturday.

The Jets coming off a win over St George Illawarra will be looking to consolidate their spot inside the top five, while the Flegg Sharks also tackle the Raiders after going down to the ladder-leading Dragons last Sunday afternoon.

The Jets play at Henson Park, kicking off at 3pm, the Sharks v Raiders Jersey Flegg game is the curtain-raiser to the NRL clash between the same two teams.

KICKOFF - Saturday, August 15, 12.35pm

Competitive for much of the match, the Jersey Flegg Sharks eventually went down 36-12 to the first-placed Dragons in a round 23 match up last Sunday afternoon, with the loss placing extra emphasis on their clash with the Raiders on Saturday.

The Sharks sit fourth on the Flegg ladder, however with just three matches remaining, and only five Finals places up for grabs, the under-21 Cronulla side will need to keep winning if they hope to be involved in the big end of season games.

The two teams have met once this season, back in round 4, with the Raiders scoring a dominant 42-20 victory.

The game on Saturday will be the lead-in match to the Sharks v Raiders NRL match. See following the two team lists.

JETS v RAIDERS, HENSON PARK
KICKOFF - Saturday, August 15, 12.35pm

A third successive win by the Newtown Jets last week has their season back on track with just three rounds remaining before the NSW Cup finals get underway.

The Jets were in control for most of the contest in a last start 36-12 win over the Dragons, consolidating fourth place on the ladder. This week's opponents the Raiders are currently 10th.

The Newtown side got the better of the Raiders back in round four, scoring a 34-26 win in a match played in Canberra, with the Jets looking for more of the same this time around.

The match is scheduled for a 3.00pm kickoff at Henson Park. See following the two team lists.
