The Jersey Flegg Sharks managed a win on the road, while the Newtown Jets slipped to a disappointing loss in round 19 matches played last weekend.

This week the two teams take on the Newcastle Knights, the Flegg Sharks playing the curtain-raiser to the NRL clash between the two teams, the Jets on Saturday at Henson Park.

Last weekend the Flegg Sharks built on an impressive opening half to beat the Storm in a match played at AAMI Park in Melbourne.

A dominant first half saw the Sharks take a 24-0 lead to the break, with the young Cronulla side going on with the job after the break to record an impressive 36-12 victory.

This Friday night the fourth-placed Sharks play a Knights side sitting 12th on the Flegg ladder.

For the second week in a row the Newtown Jets were beaten by just two points, with the Storm coming out on top 20-18 in the most recent encounter.

The Jets trailed early, would go in front 18-10, before letting their opponents back into the contest, with the loss now setting up a vital clash with a Newcastle team sitting second on the competition ladder. The Jets are currently fifth.

The two teams have met previously his season, the Knights coming out on top by 44-22.

The match is scheduled for a 3.30pm kickoff on Saturday at Henson Park.
