Leading Australian clean energy company Think Renewable, founded five years ago with the ambitious goal of helping Australians collectively save $1billion on energy bills by 2034, has partnered with the Sharks as the front of shorts sponsor for both the NRL and NRLW teams.
The partnership between the Sharks and Think Renewable covers the remainder of the 2026 seasons for both the men’s and women’s teams, while extending into 2027 as NRLW shorts sponsor.
The NRLW women’s squad are set to proudly display the logo on their playing strip beginning at Thursday’s game against the Broncos, the men when the NRL team tackles the Dolphins in Redcliffe on Saturday.
CEO Dino Mezzatesta was pleased to be able to welcome Think Renewable to the Sharks corporate family for their first sports sponsorship of this kind, one covering the final rounds of season 2026 for the NRL team and NRLW for this year and next year.
“Under the leadership of founders David Howie, Rory Dixon, and Daniel Tonkin, Think Renewable has shown remarkable growth since its inception in 2021, in making a significant impression in the renewable energy sector in just a short period of time,” Mezzatesta said.
“They have also made community impact a core part of their identity, which aligns with our values.
“We are excited to be entering into this partnership and are appreciative of their support, and I have no doubt this will be a mutually beneficial association for both organisations.”
Daniel Tonkin, Think Renewable Co-Founder and CEO, was thrilled to be linking with a nationally recognised sporting brand such as the Sharks, as their energy saving products and initiatives continue to grow across the country.
“We’re proud to partner with the Cronulla Sharks, an organisation that shares our commitment to community, growth and long-term impact,” Tonkin said.
“Across the Sutherland Shire and right around Australia, Think Renewable helps households and businesses make the switch to cleaner, more affordable energy.
“We’re especially excited to support both the Sharks’ NRL and NRLW programs, recognising the continued growth of the women’s game and the positive role sport plays in creating opportunities for future generations.”
Like the Sharks, community is at the heart of what Think Renewable does. With a broader mission framed around economic empowerment - helping families save thousands of dollars on energy bills while increasing their energy independence – the company’s community initiatives include ReForest Now and the NSW Government Battery Rebate Program.
Co-founder David Howie said the partnership reflected Think Renewable’s own values.
“We’re passionate about making renewable energy simple and accessible for everyday Australians,” Howie said.
“Sport is a powerful vehicle for bringing communities together, and this partnership with the Sharks reflects our shared commitment to sustainability, community and creating a better future for the next generation.”
Think Renewable has grown rapidly to a team of 250 people across the country. Think Renewable has installed more than 8,000 sustainable energy systems for homes and businesses since its inception, already saving Australians close to $50 million on their electricity bills.
Today, Think Renewable is a national leader in solar, battery storage, Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), and EV chargers — key components of the growing electrification movement.
As a New Energy Tech Approved Seller, having made a commitment to uphold the consumer protection standards outlined in the New Energy Tech Consumer Code, Think Renewable is a proud member of both the Clean Energy and Smart Energy Councils of Australia.
