NSW Women’s Premiership Knights take down the Sharks in a Grand Final rematch

The Newcastle Knights proved far too good in a match played between the last year’s NSW Women’s Premiership Grand Final teams, trouncing the Sharks 44-0 in a round three clash played at Ocean Protect Stadium.

In backing up the Thursday night win by the Newcastle NRLW side, the Knights took a 30-0 lead to the half time break, before going on with the job in the second period.

In all the visitors crossed for eight tries in the win, and while the Sharks second half performance improved on their efforts in the first, ultimately they were outplayed by the Knights in slipping to their third loss in their opening four games of the 2026 season.

The Sharks edged out Newcastle by 18-12 to win the 2025 NSW Women’s Premiership last season.

Next up for the NSW Premiership Sharks is a game against the Central Coast Roosters on Thursday night in what will be the curtain-raiser to the Sharks v Broncos NRLW match.
