The Newtown Jets in the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup and the Jersey Flegg Sharks both play the Roosters in round 16 matches on Sunday.

While the Jets will be involved in the curtain-raiser to the Sharks v Roosters NRL match at Allianz Stadium, the Sharks Jersey Flegg side will play at Wentworth Park earlier in the day.

SHARKS v ROOSTERS

The Sharks scored arguably their best win of the 2026 season with a 42-22 victory over the New Zealand Warriors last weekend in a match played at Go Media Stadium in Auckland.

The Sharks withstood a physical start from their opponents, before dominating large parts of the match, opening up a 42-12 lead before giving up two tries in the final five minutes.

The win saw the under-21 Sharks consolidate fifth position on the competition table ahead of this weeks clash with the 12th placed Roosters.

The match is scheduled to get underway at 12noon at Wentworth Park on Sunday.

JETS v ROOSTERS

The Jets will aim to rebound from a last start loss when they take on the Sydney Roosters in a round 16 match on Sunday.

The Jets we slow out of the blocks in their most recent outing against the Warriors, going behind 18-0 inside the first 15 minutes of the contest, and while they were competitive for the remainder of the match, couldn't reel in the early deficit in going down by 30-22.

This week the Jets play the curtain-raiser to the Sharks v Roosters NRL match, with their opponents coming off at 26-18 last start victory over the Wests Tigers.

The Jets come into the round 16 match fifth on the ladder, with the Roosters currently 11th.
