Young Sharks earn rep honours

Sharks Jersey Flegg lock Tom Dellow has been named in the NSW Under 19’s team to play Queensland, while another nine young Cronulla pathways players will represent either NSW Combined High Schools (CHS) or NSW Combined Independent Schools (CIS) in the upcoming ASSRL national carnival.

Dellow has been named in a 20-man NSW squad for the 19’s Origin clash to be played at North Sydney Oval next Thursday, with the Blues squad made up of players competing in The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup, Jersey Flegg Cup (Under 21s) and UNE SG Ball Cup (Under 19s).

Dellow, who has represented City Under 18’s boys against Country 18’s, will be a part of a GIO Men’s NSW Under 19s squad looking to reclaim the Shield after a narrow 23-22 loss on the Sunshine Coast last year.

In addition, nine young Sharks will be in action at the ASSRL Male Championships to be played in Coffs Harbour from July 6 to 11.

Jamie Curran and Liam Challenor from Endeavour Sports High will be joined by Cronulla High’s Haiden Wooldridge in the NSW CHS Under 18’s, while Cayden Cross, Nate Horsey, Jack McKevett, Jett Nisbet and Cooper Shephard have been chosen in the NSW CHS 16’s.

Ethan Mullins is the lone Sharks representative in the NSW CIS 16’s.
