Burns takes the early plea

Sharks backrower Billy Burns will escape suspension and be available for selection for his team’s next match after taking the early plea on a high tackle charge.

Burns was charged with a grade one careless high tackle on Roosters forward Siua Wong in the 58th minute of the Sharks match in Perth on Saturday.

In accepting the charge Burns will be fined $1,800.

Blayke Brailey, who was put on report for a suspected hip drop, wasn’t charged by the NRL’s match review committee.

The Sharks have a round seven bye, with their next match on Friday, April 24 against the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville.
