Junior Representative Results | Round 2

It was unfortunately a winless weekend for the four Sharks Junior Representative teams, with the Eels proving too strong in matches played at Ocean Protect Stadium and Henson Park.

See a snapshot of the results and try-scorers below.

Harold Matthews Cup

Sharks 10 (Charlie Sasse, Logan Longbottom tries; Koa Cooper goal) def by Eels 20

MATCH CENTRE

After going blow for blow for much of the contest, the Sharks were sunk by two Eels tries in the final 10 minutes. The score sat at 4-4 at half-time and was again level at 10-10 after 42 minutes, but Parramatta came home strongest.

SG Ball Cup

Sharks 16 (Isaac Dawson, Luca Pirrello, Conor Murphy tries; Callum Grantham one goal and one penalty goal) def by Eels 40

MATCH CENTRE

A solid start fizzled away in the second half for the Sharks, who were left to rue their mistakes as the Eels skipped away. The game was in the balance with a 12-all score at half-time, but Parramatta piled on five tries after the break.

Lisa Fiaola Cup

Sharks 6 (Laila Poto try; Tahli Weigand goal) def by Eels 32

MATCH CENTRE

After conceding two early tries, the Sharks did well to go into half-time within striking distance trailing 12-0. While they fell away as the game wore on, a try to captain Laila Polo provided a bright spot for the Under 17 side.

Tarsha Gale Cup

Sharks 6 (Tegan Boyce try, Ella Ropata penalty goal) def by Eels 10

MATCH CENTRE

A perfect start for the Sharks with a try to Tegan Boyce in the first minute wasn't enough as they fell short by four points in a defensive battle. Parramatta crossed twice to take a 10-6 lead after 23 minutes and the scoreboard never changed.
