Endeavour Sports High School is hosting its annual open night from 6pm on Tuesday, February 17 for current Year 6 students considering attending the famed rugby league nursery in 2027.

The Sharks have enjoyed a strong affiliation with Endeavour for more than two decades, with the Caringbah-based school counting Cronulla stars Teig Wilton and Will Kennedy among a swathe of former pupils who have reached the NRL.

Alex Johnston (Rabbitohs), Damien Cook (Dragons), Scott Sorensen (Panthers), Jamayne Isaako (Dolphins) and Reece Robson (Roosters) are other big-name players who have benefitted from an education at Endeavour.

Up-and-coming Sharks players including Tom Dellow and Jake White, both of whom represented the Australian Schoolboys last year, are also products of the school's exceptional sporting and academic programs.

Cronulla's Harold Matthews Cup coach Brad Kelly and pathways mentor Dave Howlett have kept the Endeavour ship sailing as the school's senior coaches.

Howlett, who joined Endeavour in 1998, has a glittering coaching resume that includes winning the 2015 SG Ball title and the 2018 Jersey Flegg premiership.

Despite the school's unmatched ability to develop incredible sporting talent, Howlett insisted Endeavour has a firm focus on moulding well-rounded people.

"While the rugby league program is a significant part of the schooling experience, at Endeavour Sports High School education always comes first," Howlett said.

"Students are supported with both their studies and sport in a caring and nurturing environment, geared to bring out the best in each individual."

Howlett likened the Endeavour environment to that of a big family – "and that brings out a genuine love of the game and pride in the school".

Sharks fullback Kennedy has credited the support of his teachers and coaches at Endeavour with helping to build him into the man he is today.

"I really enjoyed my schooling experience at Endeavour," Kennedy said. "They certainly assisted with my rugby league development, while I have no doubt the culture and educational opportunities at the school also helped to make me a better person."

He added: "The coaches and the teachers really got behind us, especially Dave Howlett. He was a big one coming through my footy career when I was younger."

Registration for the open night is not required. For more information, please call the school on 95240615 or email [email protected].
