Sharks Stadium's spectacular transformation into a world-class motorsport battleground is complete as the iconic NRL venue prepares to host the AUSX Supercross Championship on Saturday.
More than 5,500 tonnes of dirt now covers the football field's hallowed turf, forming a technically demanding track for Round 3 of the Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship – the series' first event in Sydney since 2018.
Riders tested out the track on Friday ahead of the much-anticipated showdown.
Supercross comes to Sharks Stadium
A heaving crowd is expected to watch international superstars and Australia's best riders – including Sutherland Shire resident and Sharks supporter Matt Moss – face off in an evening of heart-pounding racing and mind-blowing FMX stunts.
In total, 122 riders will compete across four race categories.
"To bring the series to Sharks Stadium for the first time is massive – it's an iconic sporting venue, and the Shire crowd will bring an incredible atmosphere," AUSX director Adam Bailey said. "The track's tight, fast, and packed with passing opportunities – it's going to be spectacular racing under lights."
Supporters can also enjoy free access to a pumping Fan Fest and nonstop family-friendly entertainment from 12-5pm at Captain Cook Oval (opposite Sharks Stadium), offering the chance to meet the riders and see the bikes up close.
