NRL Season Review: By the Numbers

For the second straight season, the Sharks fought their way to the preliminary finals but fell agonisingly short of the decider.

Craig Fitzgibbon's men nonetheless enjoyed a landmark year that kicked off with a historic match in Las Vegas and concluded just shy of the ultimate prize.

Read on for some of the stats that defined Cronulla's 2025 campaign.

2025 NRL Season: By the Numbers

1 – try scored by Toby Rudolf, an unforgettable four-pointer that sealed a sudden-death finals victory over the Roosters and sent Sharks Stadium into raptures.

2 – games played by Chris Vea'ila, the team's only NRL debutant in 2025. The young centre scored a try in his first match against the Roosters in Round 20.

3 – field goals kicked by Braydon Trindall, more than anyone else in the league.

4 – players who featured in all 27 games (Blayke Brailey, Addin Fonua-Blake, Will Kennedy, Nicho Hynes).

5 – most wins in a row this season (from Round 24 to Finals Week 2).

6 – wins by 20 points or more.

9 – consecutive games in which KL Iro scored at least one try, becoming the first player of the NRL era to achieve the feat from the start of a season.

15 – wins in the regular season; enough to secure fifth place. Eventual premiers Brisbane pipped Cronulla into fourth place with a superior points differential.

17 – tries scored by winger Ronaldo Mulitalo (most in the team). KL Iro (12) scored the second-most tries for Cronulla despite being restricted to 14 matches.

23 – line breaks by Ronaldo Mulitalo (equal fourth in the competition and most in the team).

26 – players used across the season.

31 – line-break assists by halfback Nicho Hynes (second only to Bronco Reece Walsh's 34) and offloads by prop Oregon Kaufusi (equal 19th in the competition).

54 – most points scored in a game (Round 24 v Titans).

79 – Nicho Hynes' goal-kicking percentage (98 goals from 123 attempts).

115 – tries scored by the Sharks (including finals) at an average of 4.3 per game.

100 – career games celebrated by Teig Wilton against the Dragons in Round 23.

130 – consecutive NRL games played by Blayke Brailey, the longest current streak of any player. The hooker hasn't missed a match since Round 20, 2020.

150 – career games celebrated by Blayke Brailey, Jesse Ramien and Briton Nikora throughout the season.

161 – average metres per game by Addin Fonua-Blake (most in the team).

200 – career games celebrated by Addin Fonua-Blake in Round 20 against the Roosters.

228 – points scored by Nicho Hynes (eight tries, 98 goals).

665 – points scored by the Sharks (including finals); average of 24.6 per game.

1220 – tackles made by Blayke Brailey (most in the competition).

1931 – post-contact metres by Addin Fonua-Blake (most in the competition).

2169 – minutes played by Nicho Hynes and Will Kennedy, who didn't miss a second of action through 27 games.

3614 – times Blayke Brailey touched the ball, more than any other player.

9746 – kick metres by Braydon Trindall, the fourth most in the competition.
