NRLW Finals football is heading to Townsville for the first time and returns to Newcastle as the North Queensland Cowboys and Newcastle Knights host the two elimination finals fixtures this Saturday.
In just their third NRLW campaign, the Cowboys finished the home and away season in fourth place and will host last year’s Grand Finalists, the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.
The make-up of the 2025 Telstra Women’s Premiership Finals Series came down to the very last game of the home-and-away season, where the Knights locked in third place on the ladder and booked a home Final against the sixth-placed Gold Coast Titans.
After winning all 11 matches this season, the Sydney Roosters secured the Minor Premiership and along with the second-placed Brisbane Broncos, have earned a Preliminary Final berth.
The NRL today confirmed the times and venues for NRLW Week One Finals, featuring:
- Newcastle Knights (3) v Gold Coast Titans (6) at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 2.30pm (September 20)
- North Queensland Cowboys (4) v Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks (5) at Queensland Country Bank Stadium at 4.15pm on Saturday (September 20)
NRL Chief Executive Andrew Abdo said: “The NRLW season has thrilled fans across Australia and New Zealand with more attacking football, faster play the balls and more ball in play than we’ve ever seen in the competition, leading to the most attended and watched home and away season on record.
“The final make-up of the first ever six team Finals Series was decided in the final game of the home and away season and the last spot came right down to the wire with the Titans clinching sixth place on a golden point field goal.”
NRL and NRLW Club Members (ticketed and non-ticketed) can purchase tickets from $10 for NRLW Finals. General Public tickets will be available from $15, with family tickets from $30.
NRLW Finals Series tickets will be on sale at for competing clubs’ members at 1pm on Monday (September 15) and General Public at 4pm at www.nrl.com/tickets.
