Pilot Medical Update - Niwhai Puru

Halfback Niwhai Puru will miss Newtown's NSW Cup elimination final against the Raiders on Saturday after suffering a pectoral injury.

The playmaker will consult a specialist this week having sustained the injury in the second half of the Round 27 loss to the Sea Eagles last Sunday.

Talented youngster Riley Pollard will wear the No.7 for Cronulla's feeder team in Puru's absence as the Jets look to defend their title as reigning premiers.

In other pathways medical news, rising fullback/five-eighth Taj Ford underwent ankle surgery on Monday after suffering a syndesmosis injury against the Kaiviti Silktails in Round 25 of the Jersey Flegg competition.

The Flegg Sharks will face Canberra in a qualifying final at Kogarah on Saturday.

This Sharks medical update is brought to you by Pilot, Australia's biggest men's healthcare startup.
