The roar of Supercross is set to shake Sharks Stadium this October as the Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship makes its highly anticipated return to Sydney.
To officially launch Round 3, a dynamic media event took place today at Sharks Stadium, Cronulla, bringing together the raw adrenaline of Supercross and the fierce energy of NRL in a unique stadium takeover.
The event featured an on-field rider roll-in and a memorable jersey swap between AUSX riders and Sharks players, led by Sharks captain Cameron McInnes. Joining him in the jersey swap were Sharks stars Sifa Talakai and Billy Burns, highlighting the exciting cross-code partnership and community spirit ahead of the October 25 race day.
"It's incredible to be part of this unique crossover between Sharks NRL and Supercross — two sports that demand immense skill, athleticism, and fearlessness," said McInnes.
"We have full respect for what these riders bring to the track, and we're proud to host this historic event at Sharks Stadium. I can't wait to see the action firsthand and experience the energy our fans will feel on race day"
Headlining the rider lineup was Matt Moss, a nine-time AUSX champion and proud NSW local, who announced that this will be his final Supercross race on home soil — marking an emotional farewell to Sydney fans and celebrating his legacy as one of Australia's most decorated riders.
"Sydney crowds have always meant the most to me," Moss said. "To ride one last time in front of a NSW crowd where it all started — it's going to be emotional. This isn't just a race — it's a send-off"
Joining Moss and fellow NSW local Dylan Wills was Aaron Tanti, a top SX1 rider representing the Monster Energy CDR Yamaha Team. Tanti's presence adds international championship calibre to the field, promising fierce competition in Sydney.
The announcement also highlighted the upcoming transformation of Sharks Stadium into a high-octane Supercross battlefield for the first time in history. Fans can expect intense racing, jaw-dropping FMX stunt shows, a pumping pit party, activations, fan zones, and more on Saturday, October 25.
"The return to Sydney is massive," said Mick Sinclair, AUSX Head of Motorsport. "It's been seven years since our last Sydney round, and to do it with the support of the Sharks, transforming their stadium into a Supercross cauldron, is a huge win for fans and the sport."
