Published Saturday, June 21:

Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon has trimmed his squad to 19 ahead of tomorrow's clash with the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.

Braden Hamlin-Uele will start at prop after the withdrawal of Oregon Kaufusi with hamstring tightness. Utility forward Hohepa Puru will move onto the bench for his Sharks debut, while Niwhai Puru and Chris Vea'ila have dropped out of the squad.

Initially published Tuesday, 17 June:

Powerhouse Siosifa Talakai has been named at centre in the only change to a victorious starting line-up for the Sharks' clash with the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Talakai has been elevated from the bench to replace Mawene Hiroti after the outside back strained his calf in last week's win over the Dragons.

Hiroti is set to miss 4-6 weeks. He was himself deputising for KL Iro, who will be sidelined for up to three months after undergoing surgery on a ruptured pectoral.

While Talakai hasn't started in the backline since the 2024 preliminary final, the 28-year-old has impressed when thrust into the centres mid-match this season.

Elsewhere, playmaking utility Daniel Atkinson is set to earn a recall to the interchange in Talakai's place after sliding to 18th man last week.

Kick-off on Sunday is at 2pm AEST, with live coverage on Foxtel and Kayo.
